The Challenges USEE addresses

There are people suffering in every part of the world, even in well-developed countries.

A problem properly stated is half solved.

- John Dewey -

What challenges do we address?

ECOSYSTEM DESTRUCTION

Without soil, water, air, biodiversity and balance there is no question of human existence on this planet. And yet, we dealing with issues like:

  • Climate Change

  • Mass Extinction

  • Excessive Land Use for Human Activities

  • Resource Contamination (Water, Land, Food, Air)

  • Soil Degradation (Fertility Loss)

  • Erosion and Desertification

  • Increasing Droughts and Wildfires

  • Decreasing Nutrient Density in Food

  • Unreliable Resource Supply (Water, Food)

The integrity of our ecosystem and its capability of functioning flawlessly is pivotal for our survival. The UN estimated that by 2050 nearly 6 billion people will be suffering from water scarcity.

It is up to us to make conscious decisions and take responsibility for the consequences of our actions. We know that we are merely a part of nature, so, operating with a distorted worldview naturally leads to our own demise.

UNSUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE

Most buildings and infrastructures have been designed with the hope of optimising aesthetics, but this longing all too often resulted in utter negligence of our surroundings and the ecosystem that supports us, raising issues like:

  • Excessive Carbon Emissions

  • Excessive Heat Cumulation

  • Flood Hazard

  • Lack of Storm Protection

  • Excessive Power Consumption

  • Excessive Water Consumption

  • Excessive Waste Production

  • Toxic Contamination from Used Materials and Waste

With the diversity of technology we have available today, solving these issues has become merely a question of attention, priority and creativity.

SOCIAL EXCLUSION

Societies were formed to make survival as effortless as possible. And yet, we struggling with issues like:

  • Marginalization

  • Seclusion

  • Injustice

  • Loneliness

  • Conventionality

  • Unkindness

  • Exploitation

  • Competitive Hostility

  • Corruption and Empty Promises

To overcome inadequacy and injustice, we have to re-learn how to live and function as a society in a constructive way, supporting our individual and collective wellbeing.

HEALTH DETERIORATION

Modern science proves that our bodys and minds are designed for health and joy. Then why are we dealing with issues like:

  • Frustration and Desperation

  • Depression and Suicide

  • Apathy and Addiction

  • Chronic Illness and Stress

  • Autoimmune Disease

  • Overwhelming Emotions

  • Anxiety and Burn-out

  • Lack of Joy and Fulfilment

Over 95% of our global population is unhealthy according to pre-pandemic statistics, which is a challenge that concerns personal wellbeing and life quality while leading to outrageous international health care expenses.

UNEXPRESSED POTENTIAL AND UNIDENTIFIED PURPOSE

It's no secret that every one of us is unique. This has nothing to do with diversity relating to skin aesthetics, ethnicity, culture, religion and such, because not even within the frames of our own family will we find 100% coherence. Then, why are we struggling with issues relating to:

  • Forced Education and Child Development Standards

  • Personal Growth

  • Individual Development

  • Standardised Career Paths

  • Acceptance

  • Belonging

  • Respect

  • Recognition

  • Exploration and Expression of Individual Potential

All of us are born unique, to share our gifts with the world and learn how to thrive with others.

EXPLOITATIVE ECONOMY

We are the architects of our economic system and determine its values in regard to all stakeholders involved. Then why are we still struggling with issues like:

  • Poverty

  • Under- and Malnourishment

  • Demeaning Jobs

  • Destructive Industries

  • Poor life Quality

  • Profitability over Wellbeing

  • Unfair Access to Opportunities

  • Using People as Dispensable Parts of the Economic Machine

The economic system has changed many times over the course of the past thousand years to accommodate the priorities that we have set as a global society. Yet we are facing so many issues that are contradictory to the actual purpose of our economic system which originated from the concept of facilitating survival, comfort and freedom for all.

It's during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.
